Founded in 2002, we are a UK based Club who promote an interest in 1:6 ‘BIG’ Scale.
We exhibit at shows and actively raise money for charities, having raised over £3,000 since forming. This year we aim to raise at least £700 for charity.
Our Forum
We host a FREE Internet Forum with its own picture hosting facility. Our gallery is a great way to show off your 1:6 scale masterpieces.
History
The UK 1:6 Collectors Club was formed by the Club Chairman, Ade P / Fatbear, in Nov 2002.
Christmas 2002 saw the Club host its first event, a free-entry Club Draw, and the Club hosted its first table at the 'Action Man Show' in Loughborough during Feb 2003. To celebrate it’s first anniversary the Club held the first ever 1:6 Scale Model Competition at Loughborough in November 2003. The competition was held annually until 2007.
During 2004 members worked together to produce a limited edition figure. This was the first 1:6 scale Falklands War figure, being called ‘Stanley Fitzroy’ in memory of these two battlefields. Twenty-five figures were produced, and dispersed Internationally. The Club also sponsored a 1:6 scale class in the Spring Model Show at the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Somerset.
To celebrate the Club`s fourth anniversary, it hosted its first show, the ‘Welsh Action Figure Show’, in Chepstow, S.Wales. The Club hosted the show again in 2007. That year also saw the Club work with a manufacturer to produce scale ‘Northern Ireland’ FLAK vests.
Throughout its history the Club has been active in Charity Work. See our Charity Work page for more details.
This year, our Club Chairman (Ade / Fatbear) and Forum Administrator (Darren / Mr DJT) walked the Devon D-Day coast in full WW2 US Infantry uniform to raise funds for COMBAT STRESS.
